Home is fleeting yet fixed, comforting yet complicated, the place that grounds but can just as easily unsettle. Issue three invited contributors to consider the topic of home through what we cook, consume and gather around.

Drawing on Ireland’s long tradition of hospitality, this issue imaginatively opens doors to spaces and places across the globe, from Irish pubs overseas to a cookbook club in Copenhagen and a writer’s early upbringing in Hanoi, highlighting that home is as much about a feeling as it is about a place.

Perhaps it is within these ancestral mouthfuls that I feel most at home, sitting on the ground, the waves filling my ears, the salt spray a soft sting in my nostrils.
